The project Impact of cities on river water pollution

The project was a follow-up of the researches performed within the frameworks of the Oka-Elba Russian-German project. The main objective of the project was assessment of the impact of waste water discharge on the quality of river waters, water supply sources, as well as development of recommendations on improvement of drinking water treatment processes for the purpose of increasing efficiency of municipal water treatment facilities.


The project Bottom sediments of rivers and reservoirs

The project was aimed at studying content of heavy metals, organic matters and biogenic components in bottom sediments of the Volga and its large tributaries. The scientific supervisor of the project was Professor G. Müller (Heidelberg university, Germany). The project partners were the Institute of Geochemistry of the Heidelberg University (Germany), NNGASU (the UNESCO chair and chair of water works), the All-Russia Research Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Melioration.


The Russian-German research programme Volga-Rhine

The outcomes of the Russian-German project Oka-Elba implemented in 1992-1997 showed necessity to continue the two countries cooperation on rehabilitation of ecological situation of river basins. In 1998 in the frameworks of a specially signed agreement on cooperation in the field of studying water bodies and ecological technologies between the Ministry of sciences and technologies of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of education and research of Germany the research programme Volga-Rhine was started.


Studying processes of formation and structure dynamics of a modern city by methods of fractal modeling (2011 2012)

The project was implemented within the frameworks of a competition organized by the Russian foundation of fundamental researches under the support of the Ministry of industry and innovations of Nizhny Novgorod region.


Monitoring and assessment of natural and man-induced emergencies by means of satellite information and GIS technologies

Based on laboratory researches performed at IAP RAS, a new algorithm of calculating parameters of natural disasters in a coastal zone is suggested.


Development of a system of interactive ecological monitoring of traffic jams based on the Internet of Things technology

A conception of online ecological monitoring of traffic jams is offered. The core of the interactive system is a calculation module that calculates air pollution field and health risks. The calculation is based on the data of actual traffic velocity as well as velocity and direction of the wind.


Studying dependence of water quality of lake-type reservoirs on hydro-physical parameters

The goal of the research is identifying relationship of hydrological characteristics of reservoir water with concentration and species composition of cyanobacteriae and algae.


UNESCO interdisciplinary initiatives on sustainable development of the Volga-Caspian basin

The history of initiating UNESCO project on sustainable development of the Volga-Caspian basin was connected with the International scientific and industrial forum Great Rivers-99 held in May 1999 in Nizhny Novgorod. The forum became an important event facilitating intensification of international cooperation in the field of ecologically safe development.


Development of scientific basis and technologies of urban territories protection from natural anthropogenic disasters negative impacts

A complex expert-analytic work was performed in 2007 under the supervision of doctor of technical sciences, professor E.V. Koposov on the influence of raising the Cheboksary reservoir water level up to 68 m mark on the environment. 18 industrial, specialized, communal and public organizations together with the Government of Nizhny Novgorod region took part in the work.


The Russian-German project Impact of cities on river water pollution

Implementation of the project was carried out within the framework of the Russian-German Volga-Rhine research programme during 2007-2011. The NNGASUs partner in the project was the Engler-Bunte Institute of the Karlsruhe University.


Development of scientific basis and technologies of urban territories protection from natural anthropogenic disasters negative impacts

In 2009, under the supervision of UNESCO Chairholder, professor E.V. Koposov, a grant-project was won in the competition organized by the Federal agency for education in the programme Development of the higher school scientific potential (2009-2010), fundamental researches in the field of natural, technical and humanitarian sciences.


Study and assessment of the impact of lowland water reservoirs on sustainable development of urban territories

The project was implemented within the framework of the analytical departmental target programme Development of the higher school scientific potential (2009-2010) under the supervision of UNESCO Chairholder, professor E.V. Koposov.


Development of methodological grounds for creating a complex system of water supply of enterprises of food and light industries

The project was implemented within the framework of the analytical departmental target programme Development of the higher school scientific potential (2009-2010). The aim of the researches was the development of methodological ground of complex systems of water supply of industrial enterprises providing for waste water treatment to the quality of process water with its recycling to the technological process, biogas and sludge utilization.


The Russian-German project BiNeRu

NNGASU was an active participator in the BiNeRu Russian-German project the aim of which was assessment of the bioenergy potential of Nizhny Novgorod, Kaluga, Oryol regions and Tatarstan Republic to create a scientific basis for bioenergy production and bioenergy installations construction in Russia.


Development of theoretical grounds for designing high efficient membrane bioreactors for waste water treatment

NNGASU was an active participator in the BiNeRu Russian-German project the aim of which was assessment of the bioenergy potential of Nizhny Novgorod, Kaluga, Oryol regions and Tatarstan Republic to create a scientific basis for bioenergy production and bioenergy installations construction in Russia.


Methodology of complex functional and sustainable development of the territories of reserves and nature protected complexes under conditions of technogenesis

The project was aimed at solving a fundamental problem of geoecology and nature management related to the identification of natural and anthropogenic mechanisms of biosphere reserves maintenance and restoration.


Researching hydro-physical processes in the lake part of lowland reservoirs (by the example of the Gorky reservoir)

The aim of the project was a complex research of hydro-physical and biological processes, including stratification of water depthwise and stream profiles as a basis for studying condition of plankton. Methods of field investigations were offered on the basis of a mobile multimodal research complex comprising hydro-physical and sampling equipment, a microscope and a digital video camera.
